MTI and SPSL Inspire Ambon’s Young Generation through Pelindo Mengajar
Jakarta, October 1, 2025 – The younger generation is the key driver of the nation’s future. With this belief, PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), in collaboration with its subsidiary PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (PT MTI), organized the Pelindo Mengajar program as part of its Education-focused Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) initiative at SMA Negeri 6 Ambon.
Through this program, the management of SPSL and PT MTI visited schools to share knowledge, motivation, and professional experiences, while also introducing the role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), particularly in the maritime and logistics sector. Carrying the theme “Building a Smart Generation for an Advanced Indonesia”, the program is being held simultaneously across various regions in Indonesia throughout September to October 2025, as part of the commemoration of Pelindo’s 4th Anniversary.
On September 26, 2025, Retno Soelitianti, Director of Strategy and Business Development of SPSL, accompanied by Sucahyo, Corporate Secretary of PT MTI, were warmly welcomed by Wempie M. G. Mapussa, S.Pd., M.Pd., Principal of SMA Negeri 6 Ambon. The event drew enthusiastic participation from more than 150 students.
In her remarks, Retno highlighted that Pelindo Mengajar serves as a platform for Pelindo Group to engage more closely with students, foster motivation, and broaden their perspectives on the vast opportunities within the maritime and logistics industries.
“We firmly believe that a strong learning spirit and the courage to dream big will empower the younger generation to become the cornerstone of Indonesia’s progress,” she said.
This year’s program emphasizes the importance of nurturing a reading culture as the foundation for shaping an excellent generation. Students were encouraged not only to actively seek information but also to deepen their knowledge in order to think critically and build strong character.
Principal Wempie M. G. Mapussa expressed appreciation for the selection of SMA Negeri 6 Ambon as part of this year’s Pelindo Mengajar program. Meanwhile, Zizilia Ayu Toisuta, Student Council President of SMA Negeri 6 Ambon, proudly conveyed her excitement on behalf of her peers:
“We are very grateful that although our school is located far from the city, we were chosen by Pelindo for this program. The learning materials were inspiring and motivating, making us more eager to study and to dream big. We truly hope Pelindo Mengajar will return to our school next year,” she said enthusiastically.
As a tangible form of support, SPSL and PT MTI provided educational assistance in the form of a smart board, laptops, computers, and a projector for the school, along with four tablet PCs for outstanding students. This contribution is expected to help create a more adaptive learning process in line with the digital learning styles of today’s generation.
Since the Pelindo merger four years ago, MTI has continued to strengthen its position as SPSL’s logistics subsidiary. Through its CSER programs, the company remains committed to three priorities: enhancing education quality, empowering MSMEs, and preserving the environment.
